Toolbox Ministry

What is Toolbox Ministry?

Toolbox Ministry desires to see hearts touched and lives changed as we bring together able-bodied folks who desire to serve others by being the “hands and feet of Jesus”, helping widowed, seniors, single parent families, and those with disabilities who need practical assistance with some tasks around their home.

"But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded."

- 2 Chronicles 15:7

Frequently Asked Question

Bayside Toolbox Ministry provides minor home and/or yard maintenance or repair services via volunteers recruited from the church. Volunteers may be skilled or unskilled, with assigned tasks aligning with skill level. Common tasks include minor fence repair, trimming of bushes/shrubs, weed pulling, grass trimming/mowing, replacing lights & ceiling fans, etc. Volunteers can also flip mattresses, change lightbulbs that require a ladder, and change batteries in smoke detectors. Any project or task that requires a certified/licensed trade will more than likely not be a task that can be tackled by the Toolbox Ministry.

Bayside attendees who have been regularly attending for 3-6 months. The primary focus of Toolbox Ministry is to support widows/widowers, single parents, elderly, and disabled individuals within our church family, however, we wish to share the love of Christ with anyone in need, so we will consider other applicants based on available resources and volunteers.

The Toolbox Ministry is coordinated by volunteers under the direction of the Bayside Folsom Care and Local Outreach Pastors. We do our best to address requests on a first come first served basis, however more urgent needs may be prioritized over less urgent needs.

Recipients may request support from the Toolbox Ministry 1 time every 12 months. If you have an urgent need within 12 months of receiving assistance from the Toolbox Ministry, please email folsom.care@baysideonline.com, and we will assess whether we can make an exception.

When your project is assigned to a project manager, they will schedule a time for two volunteers leads to visit you at your home and assess the need. During that time, they will review and discuss your requested task list to determine what specific tasks the Toolbox Ministry volunteers will be able to complete. Once the tasks and material expenses are assessed, the project manager will submit the project to our Local Outreach Pastor for approval. The project manager will be in communication with the homeowner regarding the status of the project’s approval and work on scheduling a date for the work to be completed.

Toolbox Ministry is a volunteer-based ministry. Individuals donate their time, so there is no charge for “labor”.  It is welcomed if you can pay for material used on your project. This will allow the Toolbox Ministry to serve more people by stretching our ministry budget further. If you are not able to pay for materials, we will assess what we can or cannot commit to assisting you with. If you choose to pay for the materials for your project, you can coordinate this with the project manager.
